Movie Trailers are Bad

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006

This made me think that all the best movies i have seen, i havn’t seen the trailers for them. The movies where i just went because the poster looked cool, or the title seemed neat. Don’t get me wrong i have seen a lot of terrible movies this way. But the ratio is better, no trailers good movies, as to bad movies good trailers. I am going to try and stop watching trailers all together. I think that trailers are the devil.

Movies that shouldn’t give away the ending

Monday, January 30th, 2006

The best movies are the one that suprise you. When your not paying attention, BAM….SUPRISE! And i am not talking about suprise movies like The Six Sense or Oldboy. But maybe i am, because they could have easily given away the endings in a trailer. But the way the movies were marketed. If the trailers were different would the movies have been such a big success?

Two movies come to mind for me, Truman Show and Red Eye. These would have been better movies have i not seen the trailers. I would have loved and payed more attention to the story. The trailers ruined the movie, and i am sure that people thought that way. Why watch the movie when i can just watch the trailer. Or how many times has teh trailer had the funniest parts of the movie. At least 98 percent of the comedies that came out within the last four years.

I also think that it is that people don’t want to be suprised anymore. People like to know how movies end. As the success of Titanic and the rest of the movies in that genre. People like to know the ending and they like to know how movies go along. Hence trailers, because they want to know what the movie is about. And it turned out that people want to know how the whole movie is.

What are some good trailers? Are the movies as good as the trailers? Do the good movies have terrible trailers? WHat makes a good trailer?

Kiefer Sutherland Commercial

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

i love how after 24 today there was acommercial for Verizon Business with the voiceover of Kiefer Sutherland. Its like 24 never stopped for a commercial. I wish T.V. shows did this more often. And i am happy that 24 is on, I need something to pass the time since Prison Break isn’t on till March.

Gmail Spam

Did google turn off there spam blocker in gmail? Because i have been getting about ten spam emails in my inbox everyday. Gmail used to be very good at catching spam, and non spam emails. To my knowledge nothing important (important being, from a friend, about work, or anything else i deem important) has ever been labeled as spam. I have found a few Forum replies, or stuff that could be spam in the spam box. I randomly go through the spam folder and sometimes see one email mislabeled as spam. But i wouldn’t care if i never read that email, or what i do these days, is just look at the subject.

Lately i am getting so much spam in my inbox. And they are pretty much the same spam messages as you can see in the picture. I get those spam messages daily, google is starting to piss me off for the first time.
