“Are you righteous? Kind? Does your confidence lie in this? Are you loved by all? Know that I was, too. Do you imagine your suffering will be any less because you loved goodness and truth?”
A simple movie quote from The Thin Red Line. One of my favorite movies of all time. I don’t want to make a habit of posting Movie Quotes, but i guess i am doing it more often now.
I was recently thinking about this movie because Terrance Malick has a new movie coming out in 2005. Another war movie i am assuming from the trailer. But it made me think about The Thin Red Line and how it isn’t a movie about how war is bad. But i mainly thought that the movie was about how war is human. How humans just don’t know how not to fight.
It begins with what seams to be a peace full village. It cuts to a few scenes of happiness in the village. And then it shows two boys fighting, Even in the small village there is fighting. You would never assume it happens there, but why not?
